Rumors on new flexible work schedules?

Any rumors to share on the studies being done for new remote work schedules and/or new flexible work schedules?

Flexible working schedules will be BU/OPCO based. Corporate is not taking an official company wide stance on flex work.

We don’t need more talent. We have way too much!

Working from home schedules will attract a lot more talent for open positions. Total compensation will definitely drop over time because of the huge supply of well qualified people.

I heard the 9/80 will only be for those who go 100 percent office based.

I heard there's a good chance we move to 3 office / 2 remote schedule while preserving the 9/80.

If work from home is permanent Houston will be a ghost town. Tumbleweeds blowing down all 30 lanes of the Katy fwy.

Heard that though CVX folks are working from home, they are working longer hours. Whatever time they spent commuting to/from work is now time spent working more at their computers. Heard this is mostly because they are working more than two/three jobs due to workforce reduction. Not sure what a flexible work schedule means in this scenario...?

Go to the office 7 days a week. Work 5am - midnight 365 days a year.

If they opt to go fully remote, I think a lot of folks who left the oil industry because they wanted to not live in Midland or Houston would be applying for jobs like crazy going forward.

I was laid off, like everyone posting here, at least I thought, so who cares about what kind of work schedules are in place for those left over there?

As the primary impetus for 9/80 has always been Houston traffic, with the work from home flexibility, the 9/80 will go away. Chevron is really the last major to retain it.

Vaccine at 10% of population, infected at 10% of population, we are half way there, watch wait and listen. POTUS will announce the best results yet after 100 days.

Work from home two days per week max. Three if you are pregnant. No carryover. Hot desks.
