Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Supply chain Feedback

Theres no other place to ask these questions so I'm hoping someone can provide some helpful feedback, I've been thinking about applying for a new grad position in the SCM dept after graduation and wanted to see if anyone can provide some feedback on the culture, teams and office. I heard the office outline is mostly cubicles so does it get loud during the day? How are the teams and general attitude of everyone?

I currently have a few offers but Cenovus seems to have the best benefits and pay while others seem to have completely different things to offer like own space, continued education etc.

I can’t believe you are searching for answers on an anonymous b!tching site. You really think you are going to get sound advice from those who purely have an axe to grind with someone they don’t agree with and spewing hate?

Cubicle life is ok. Until everyone gets sick. I worked at Husky and moved from an office to a cubicle. During flu season, it spread like wildfire. Imagine what some Brazilian or British Covid-19 variant is going to do. As per even considering working at a Company like Cenovus that talks on Linkedin how they value diversity and your mental health, I would seriously do some research and talk to some some employees. Every Tuesday is "layoff" day. Anxiety, depression, fear are part of the "culture" at Cenovus. If you don't already have PTSD , you will be sure to get it within a couple of years. Good Luck!

If you do take it remember it's just a job and don't have any expectations that job will be there tomorrow for you they will use you till they feel they don't need you anymore

Don’t listen to all the negativity. With new Husky SCM leads you may actually learn something. Legacy CVE SCM was stuck in the past. Team dynamics are not bad and you get used to the cubicles. I’d base my decision more on what your passion is, is the area of SCM you are being placed in interesting to you? Go with your gut based on interview experience, interest area and not by pay/benefits.

Don’t do it. Cve is where careers go to die. You will lose skills and learn that the only answer is yes. They only keep robotic yes people. As the other person said. Run.
