Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Is there any use in staying?

What are the chances that there'll be a time when things will go back to somewhat normal? I don't have many good options for a new job so I'm not eager to leave, but if there's really no future here then I might as well start looking. I just keep hoping we'll get some good news but I'm not sure that's happening anymore.

I have five more weeks on the clock to go. I have been accepted to law school so I am eager to move on. This is my last job with this sh–ty company and God willing, my last job in customer service.

It’s always easier to look for work when you already have work

It’s not about being bitter it’s about realizing that you believed in all the lies you were told. Now that you have taken a step back you realize how you were tricked into believing the propaganda that was being spread. There were some great times. Previous leadership cared about the people the led and I think that is what we miss the most. Genuine leaders that we would walk on fire for. Now the RVP and ZVP are all concerned about their own longevity and will throw anyone under the bus.

Keep in mind that this page is for the p-ss-d off, disgruntled person and not one where you are going to get an answer you are looking for. Everyone here has a reason to hate hertz so if you’re looking for that reasoning behind why to stay, you won’t get it here.

I work in part country where travel is still booming at different rental car company. Our counter is booming folks waiting 2 hrs for car and hertz counter no customers. This imo shows hertz has given up.

For real?

Look at this train wreck of a company. Broke, terrible leadership, no path the move the company forward, and the entire industry is declining.

You need to stop playing the victim and look in the mirror Johnny!!

There is always another option. You are the only person standing in your own way. I felt the same way. Spent 15 years with the company and thought I had no other way out. But if you actually start looking determined to leave, you will be happier in the end when everything works out. Trust me on this. Change is hard, but when it's necessary it's good to take that step for your own sake and happiness. You just have to set a goal to leave and achieve that goal by going after it and not becoming complacent. It won't be easy but it will be worth it in the end
