My patience is running out. I can last another two or three months and have to leave, even at the cost of having to accept a much worse position somewhere else.
I thought I was exaggerating and complaining too much, that things were going to get better and that it wasn’t worth changing my current position for a company that was also certainly not ideal (because it’s none).
But definitely, there is no chance that I can hold out here much longer than that.

Five years is a long time here. Based on what I’ve seen, they’ll lay you off first, fight when you’re in the sweet spot- too young to retire, too old to go elsewhere. Have a backup plan in your pocket - I do, so I’m ready when the axe falls.
I hope to hang on for another 5 years
