Because cutting has mothing to do with being the team lead. Our meat lead is an old school cutter of 30+ years. He rarely touches a knife. It's not his job. Inventory management, watching the specs, layouts... If your lead is on the block, something is wrong. Learning OYI is gonna get you farther than cutting. Right or wrong, that's the future of that job.
How to move up to management at Sam’s Club
- Have a pe–s
- Be Bald
- Middle Age
- Always say YES
If you have these qualifications your on your way to the top!!!!
It’s all favoritism my friend. They know who they want as a team leas 6-8 weeks before the position opens up. They pick the ones that don’t have a life and are their friends. The team lead is picked so they can stay a little longer than a regular assosciate and if you’re a good worker/cutter they can’t replace you and they know it’s. To them it’s I can have an id–t be team lead and have the guy who deserves it still so well in sales for us and not miss a mark. If you haven’t caught on they don’t think anyone matters until someone leaves. Then they still won’t admit you matter and lie their way out of it.
this is the Sam's way. to qualify as a lead or manager over an area you don't have to have experience in it. just be able to read an email, relay instruction, & see that it's done. that way the clowns at corporate can never be questioned because the manager/lead doesn't know anything else. only what they're told. knowledge & experience aren't viewed as an asset anymore.
It has been 15 years since they wanted a meat man to be the meat mgr/lead. They just want an hourly asst club Mgr to abuse. True story.
You obviously aren't one of the chosen few favorites at your club. This happens all the time! It's not what you know...it's who you _________! You fill in the blank.
You're probably delusional about how good of a worker you are.
You can be the world's greatest meat cutter and still be a sh–ty person who doesn't get promoted because they talk c-ap behind their coworkers' back.
Did you interview??? If so, your answers may not have been what they were looking for and the other person had a better interview. I don't know without more information. We, at our club, base it off interview performance. Whether internal or external.
After 12 years they think you are set in your ways and wont conform to their brainwashing tactics, meaning you probably have forgotten more about cutting than they'll ever know. They don't want to look like the id–ts they are and don't want to be made to look like fools.
Let's be objective.
I'd there ANYTHING you might have done take them not consider you?
