I've noticed that going to the HR has the opposite of the desired effect on abusive managers. Since the only thing that happens is things get swept under the rug, they know they're safe to continue doing what they've been doing. This just makes them even more brazen and our lives more miserable. F— this place.

Managers are just trying to cover their a**s, avoid issues and stay out of trouble, just like every other individual contributor. There is no Management, no working together, no one to consult to on issues - just emails, hand-offs and pushers. How many of us can say their manager has no idea what you do? It's every man and women for themselves at Honeywell. Thankfully for me I am close to calling it quits. This kind of environment takes a toll.
One thing that I noticed before the RIF was that it wasn’t just managers. Sure they are easy to mock, but the employee effort/talent was getting much worse. ISC mfg group was made up of 23 years olds and 65+ year olds. And engineering had a brain drain that was just irreversible. Glad I found a new company to grow my career with before Honeywell becomes a total laughing stock of the industry.
If you speak to out to HR you will be gone in the next RIF. They have no sympathy for you, and will throw you right under the bus when telling your manager.
Of course, look at what type of leaders Maddog has hired. Young, bobbleheads with no experience. He doesn't want a leader that will challenge his ideas and decisions. You cant go to HR because it just puts a target on you and you'll pay the ultimate price. KA investigated aggressive behaviors of one of the VPs in ISC and wondering why everyone was leaving the group, Maddog knew about this as well and nothing happened. VP is still in role and has completely new team that continues to turn over. Sometimes, a team needs a new coach when they keep losing, it cant be the players all the time.....right!
If you are in the US, it is part of the grand plan to get rid of you, and the managers are simply doing their part to help that along. I wonder if they get a bonus for every employee they run off.
Everybody should understand, that HR is not your friend. They serve only one purpose and that is to keep the company from being sued. If you complain to HR about a manager, the manager will hear about it and he very likely will make life even harder for you.
Most of the mediocrities are there simply to keep a lid on things while the offshoring process is completed - apologists and stooges rather than leaders.
Are you shocked? Top performers put on Pips, s-xual harassment. No one cares
