Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

BREAKING: Layoffs in claims starting in May

Source is claims leader during casual conversation with another department leaders.

Said to be department wide through claims and "sweeping". I do not know what roles and parts are being impacted specifically or how many or for how long after May the layoffs in claims will go for. Just a heads up.

It could impact new hires. Not sure what their strategy is when new employees are hired, trained, and then let go. Do they realize the cost involved in that? They overestimate and lay people off and then call them back? So many things do not make sense, especially when employees are concerned.

Some SIU prepping being done in India so who knows. And with compliance being done by India in most departments along with licenses being issued for claims and services work in India I don't think there are many roles that are totally safe. Things are going to get most interesting soon.

SIU has many job openings. However, they’re at lower bands. You can infer SIU is safe or surmise the higher paid staff could be affected.
Further reductions in support staff all around.
And certain job functions will continue to move to India. Does this mean more claims for employees or reductions based on those job functions going to India?
In my opinion, there are still too many SIU RCL’s and CSL’s. Same could be said for CSL’s in the MCO I was housed in.

For current employees, go to Talent Connect and you'll see many Claim Adjuster positions across Property, casualty, auto, and LDU with more to come. India, technology, vendor outsourcing, and office closures may impact processor groups but high turnover and unanswered calls will limit impacts. Time to look forward and not be fearful. If you don't like the work, that's another issue.

Heard similar. Half of claims functions will be in India by end of the year is the word. Hearing hundreds to be cut in all of claims by end of September.

I’m working 10-13 hours a day during the week writing estimates to meet Allstate’s numbers plus weekends too. There’s no way they’re going to lay off more auto adjusters. We’re already short staffed as it is doing twice the work .

The working hours are long. Very long. Inspections and investigations too. Auto side total chaos Adjusters leaving .. how can Allstate possibly justify lay offs? Do they have India ready already to take over as full skilled adjusters ? Americans aren’t used to this type of workload. We can’t work 14 hours everyday. American lifestyle no more No more 8- 9 hour a day job For awhile in a crisis okay, will work 60 hour weeks, but this is the new normal now. Been going on for months. Not good on health. I worked 12 hours each day this week. Still behind on estimates. WTf?

I mean, really?! This site should just create a separate thread and name it “Allstate Claims Layoffs”.

How many friggin’ claims positions are there?! Seems as if 99% of layoffs are in claims!

I'm going to be that person.

This isn't "breaking". We all know they weren't done with layoffs, and that there'd likely be more layoffs in the future. And while I don't know the departments impacted, I doubt they'd further gut the same departments they just gutted 5 or so months ago.

Sorry, but your "source" sounds like BS.
