Subject: Global Supply Chain Executive VSP Announcement
Global Supply Chain Team, Today, I am sharing an update on the status of the Executive Voluntary Separation Plan (VSP), including the names of those executives who have opted into this program. I know each has leveraged their personal and professional network as they deliberated on this important decision. As they begin a new chapter in their lives, I am truly grateful for their incredible contributions to Amway, knowing each has committed a significant portion of their career – and lives – to advancing our business around the world. • Charen Buyce, Director – Global Indirect Procurement • Lisa Datema, Director – Demand Planning Analytics • Deb Parmé, Vice President – Demand & Supply Planning and Procurement • Brad Rick, Director- Ada Manufacturing • Heath Tilley, Vice President – Transportation, Trade, Warehouse, Last Mile Charen, Lisa, Deb, Brad and Heath are colleagues and friends who have worked tirelessly to support the millions of ABOs and Customers we serve. In addition, they have provided strong leadership and built a pipeline of talent that will position Amway for continued success in the future. Let me express my sincere appreciation for all they have done and take a moment to say: THANK YOU! Charen’s contributions over her 18 years with Amway are many, including her strong leadership within the Project Management organization and Indirect Procurement space. Charen led our Project Management teams with a focus in the beauty category supporting color cosmetics, before transitioning to lead the Indirect Procurement area. Over the last 15 years, she worked closely with our global leadership team across the enterprise to effectively manage Amway’s $1B+ in indirect expenses, generating substantive year-on-year savings and efficiencies. Charen’s last day will be July 2. Lisa has been with Amway for 32 years building and sharing her in-depth knowledge of our sales plan, market dynamics, and demand forecasting processes. Throughout her career, Regional Presidents and Managing Directors have sought Lisa’s sound counsel as they developed growth plans for their respective regions and markets. Lisa’s keen understanding of our business drivers and sharp analytical skills have strongly supported us for many decades. Her team and colleagues appreciate her calm approach to the toughest questions and dedication to delivering insights that drive positive results. Lisa’s last day will be December 3. During her 31 years with the company, Deb has served in multiple key roles, including the support of Amway’s market expansion activities around the world – spanning financial, operational, manufacturing and IT capacities. Her extensive knowledge of the business – ranging from customer service, to sourcing/planning, to global logistics, to e-commerce fulfillment – has improved our enterprise processes and performance across the company. Most recently, Deb has led the Procurement and Planning teams, ensuring our organization delivered a consistent source of supply to ABOs and customers globally (notably in the midst of a global pandemic). Deb’s last day will be December 17. Brad began his career at Amway 35 years ago, serving in various roles across the company including R&D, focused on product development, as well as Quality Assurance, where he worked closely with our markets to establish the ‘Voice of the Customer’ program which is still leveraged today. While in IT, Brad led the implementation of the Atlas program, our first global ERP application. For the past 11 years, Brad’s strong leadership in Manufacturing resulted in significant progress across our Spaulding and NPP plants, the successful start-up of XS manufacturing (at the height of COVID restrictions), and the design and implementation of our ‘One Team’ manufacturing workforce strategy. Brad’s last day will be July 2. For the past nine years, Heath has served in various leadership roles across the Global Supply Chain, spanning market/regional responsibilities (Brazil, La--n America) and evolving to global responsibilities. For the past several years, Heath has benchmarked best practices in customer experience across our key markets, with an emphasis on driving excellence throughout our logistics, delivery, returns and service experiences. Heath is known for his passionate support of A-O success, his desire to improve the A-O/customer experience and the support of talent development throughout his organization. Heath’s last day will be September 3. Additional details on the go-forward executive structure for Global Supply Chain will be shared shortly. The partnership, support and leadership these executives have provided to their colleagues and teams is a true testament to Amway’s core values and principles. Although their departures are planned, it is never easy to say goodbye. I wish them the very best as they explore what lies next in their personal and professional journey. Please join me in thanking Charen, Lisa, Deb, Brad and Heath for their service, friendship and strong leadership over the years. They will be missed! Michael
