Recently my full time schedule was changed which goes into effect March 27th. The very next week(Easter week) I was scheduled an extra day and so was anyone else who would normally work Sundays. I was not informed but saw it on my schedule but other associates were told by management that this is instruction from corporate and not a gm decision unlike when our GM tried to make associates work an extra day during Christmas and New Years, violating block scheduling and availability. If this is going to be a new thing then fine, but tell the associates so that they don't get points for not knowing they were scheduled outside their blocks and don't bother auto taking out pto for holidays. Furthermore why do we need to beef up the workforce AFTER a holiday??? Can anyone verify if this is actually a Sam's club thing or just a 4947 thing?

I did not see this on AMP. Thanks for sharing that it is now corporate directive. Too bad I've requested and been granted easter Mon as well as that following Friday. So l will only be working 4 days regardless. That is a dumb directive. It has ways been optional. Who doesnt need or want that time off if financially able to do so??? We need it. Here soon we will probably be open on those days. They already took away the holiday pay so...
Which reminds me... I will have to remember to put in that I do NOT want them to take my dang pto from me to cover. I still can't get over that they steal your pay if you aren't looking. Happened to me my first season because no one told me. I almost never touch my PTO so I was out 8 hours over that first Thanksgiving. Smh. No thanks, I'll take 3 days off without pay. Happy Holidays!
Easter Sunday the Clubs are closed, but the company does not put pto in for you. That is only done for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. If you normally work Sundays and you don’t get scheduled another day you’ll have to put in PTO. So, they probably scheduled you the way they did because the club is closed that Sunday and it acts as one of your 2 days off. But it forces them to schedule you over your availability. But you can speak up and tell them you’ll use pto and want your regular two days off. It’s very confusing and most people don’t notice until they check their schedule.
You are FY associates? Why are you complaining?
It was posted on the wire under AMP for week 7.
Same thing happened to me Wednesday my schedule was normal then when I looked at it on Friday all of a sudden I'm working 6 days for the next couple of weeks wthhhhhhhhhh.
