You basically have three options to choose from. You can continue to complain and make a fuss and be generally miserable at your job. Or you can continue to work hard and try to get some satisfaction from knowing you're giving it your best. Or you can work on your skills and make yourself more competitive in the job market so you can leave AT&T for greener pastures. For the life of me, I can't figure out why so many of you don't choose the third option.

Just because people complain about this hot kaka of a company doesn't mean they don't work hard and/or work on refining their skills.
Think about this genius...why not sharpen your skills and continue to work here and collect a paycheck. Then rack up enough time so you get max severance if you get laid off while at the same time getting 401k and pension contributions???
As for me I do exactly what our execs do..enough not to get fired and collect my money. Take any training that benefits me and give 0 fs about this place. I am a # to the company dispite the fact that folks like pop and fresh and da stinkster say we are valued employees

I'm answering as someone who left after 35+ years. I see a company that now treats their employees like sh!t. Promises made, promises broken. Retirement and employee benefits reduced or removed. Why? Because upper management continues to make myopic moves. I'd agree with you if I were a new employee - why complain, but as someone who is having the rug pulled out from beneath me while executives live in a bubble of "we're doing great / we keep taking more money for ourselves", I believe I have the right to complain.

Through all the c-ap we've been through - most of us are doing this. I can be p-ss-d off and still work my a– off both at the same time. My work reflects on me. I take pride in it. Do you believe I can't be p-ss-d off at being mistreated but yet still work hard? You're a buffoon if that's what you believe. I am a professional. My work is done professionally. Period.

Again, another one that's easier for a newer employee who are more marketable / lower paid / less likely to be retiring in the short future / less likely to be using sick time. As one who is really close but not quite ready to retire, this is much more difficult. There's not a lot of companies looking for 60+ year olds and the salaries they've built with the downside that by the time they know the job, they might be ready to leave. And then, there's those retirement benefits that I've worked 35+ years towards and would like to continue earning towards.
So go crawl back in your hole. Some of us are extremely professional while being treated like sh!t by the c-suiters. We have a right to be angry and complain at the mismanagement of the company we spent our life building.
#5 you work 60-70 hours a week and have no time to fulfill additional academic desires.
#6 close to the rule of 75, and once hitting it, will then make a change. If you’re pension eligible, you have to get that money- it’s well deserved.

I suppose you enjoy being abused, have benifits taken away and watch your retitement erroad?
Maybe you are fresh out of college and don't yet undrrstand age discrimination, or how T gets away with it for decades. Stay long enough in this $hithole and I guarantee you will!
You forgot #4 ... continue to take their money while doing very little since the company provide sparse actual meaningful work anymore.
