Dell did everything for Boeing IT anyway! LOL
Companies are hiding behind COVID to lose their low performing but popular employees. Slackers at Boeing tend to be pets of management and needs a serious reason to get rid of them. Would not be surprised if the 600 comprised of these low performers from each team.
Maybe we can get the managers outsourced to India.
Cant wait for management to get out sourced. Maybe Dell can set up a computer to do their job, forward stupid emails, sign ETS, approve vacations and give out cams.
Now Dell will outsource those 600 jobs to "that place" that pays $9/hr and the circle will be completed. Traitors.
Bet a Boeing D-Bag Beancounter with a MBA dreamed this idea up. Sounds like a great idea to bring Boeing's IT to a roaring halt.
Thank god I quit IT, in December 2018. Seriously, one of those swinging toy ducks that drink water from a glass can do more than what a whole IT department can deliver at Boeing. Good luck out there
What is going to happen? Dell will understaff and overwork its own IT staff. In reality, Boeing will cut 600 jobs, but pay Dell for about 400 or so jobs. The services provided by Dell will not be personalized any more. The access to ITAR and EAR data will be complicated. The time to execute anything in IT will grow. Basically, the same story as with 787 outsourcing... Climbing up the value chain does not work... Basically, Boeing will rely on outsourced labor to provide quality service, while definition of quality is negotiated with Dell and will not be the same as for native Boeing employees. In short - Dell employees do not care about success or failure of Boeing - they simply provide services and get paid by providing services.
