Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Take this job and shove it!!

It’s amazing how bad you are treated at NS after seeing how great it is at other company’s. NS truly has turned into the worst company to work for in every way. So glad to be furloughed for life lol.

To last comment....you obviously didn't have the time in that said machinist has. Anything outside of work is his biz. Maybe someone should bring up your dumba** citations. You clearly are butt hurt.

That same machinist that only needed 1 day in February was a SGL before all of the layoffs and spent his time trashing machinist and the union. To top it off he is a drunk with 3 dui's. I'm sure he'll come up with some lame excuse why he can't work some where else. That's all the union is for to protect lame a– people while the good ones get the shaft.

When Steve S. left, SCX went to hell. The upper management they have now is the like the practice squad players in the NFL....They can say they were there, but never of any importance to the team whatsoever!!

Glad to report that thanks to that machinist's General Chairman and a friend in Atlanta, he got his 30. His local was also willing to step up and let him hold an office in the local to get his 30. With that said, nobody in management at SCX lifted a finger to help. Good luck everybody.

I call BS on 29 years 11 months and only needing 2 weeks into February. RRB calculates by months you worked in. If you worked 1 day in a month it counts there is no reason a person would have to work 2 weeks into a month for it to count.

When you take vacation make sure it is reported to RRB. Vacation pay will qualify you for another month.

I got 28 years. Might not see 30.
SCX laid machinist off because machinist off sick came back.
The machinist they laid off had 29 years 11 months. He had prior NS service, SCX senority put him on their seniority rister. Just needed about 2 weeks to get into Feb for 30.
I kid you not.
Machinist unions should know this if you ask.
Management could not befumble the lay off 2 weeks . .
When you are pushed or over pushed. Think about the machinist the Company WOULD not help.

  1. 11.

Protect self.

Another case of how everyone pretends to be better off after leaving NS. I can see some cases, but everyone? Come on, these boards are full of liars!
