Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Determination?

I’m still trying to figure out how layoffs were determined this time...

Last time we (managers) were asked who we could do without—and decisions were made “above us” on who to cut. I had no such conversation this time so I’m curious.

I Think it is time to respond to MRO and Assets starting back to the beginning of race car CEO ??

Maybe it is time that the average hard working employee decides and makes the choices and decisions for the company?

It is obvious that the upper chain of command does not know nor comprehends the Oil and gas business as well as the lower levels so they continue to ignore us and sell our assets, heart and sole portions to other company’s for no reason....so why are these dumbs## that get laid or punished for the decisions made by the upper levels? Why especially when they do not understand nor comprehend the markets as the lower employees know??
In my opinion they lost touch, lost touch eithe market and reality of the market...
better they retire soon before their race cars get take away by running the company, which was ONCE perceived as a prestigious company !!!
Serious changes organization wise, need to be made!!!

From the TOP first!!!

PW? KH? BD? Chairman personnel? Along with the Fake Speed-racer: LT
Who by the way comes and shows up to the events and car shows to this date in the woodlands to show off his race cars and boost how well MRO is doing????
Sounds like a leader who lives and strives off the lower of the class at MRO...
So maybe we need to look at his car garage of special vehicles he has, especially his special car garage that can maneuver the vehicles like a laundry matt....
Common sense... where does the reductions need to start???
So who can they on 41st floor maintain their life styles....well mainly off of us below below them... so we do as instructed do as to only get F”#%ked
By them???...
I say the employees loose more dignity, unfortunately, but in reality it needs to hit the TOP before it hits the average person doing as they are told to only let go!!
It needs to BE THE OPPOSITE!!!!

From what I heard is that all Land Managers were involved in the decision prior, I heard there was one that was not part of it...

With Permian and ORB merging the would have looked for redundancies in the new team and cut some folks accordingly. In other orgs it seemed like a lot of the cuts were individuals with a lot of experience and therefore high salary. Those seem like the first 2 determinators, beyond that I’m not sure what they looked at.
