The irony is rich.
No state tax = POS infrastructure
Too funny

Heads will roll in Texas for this fiasco, unlike in California where there will be fires and blackouts again this year, and no one will be held responsible.
Well, it didn't take long:

I don't blame TX for the re-loc at all. I blame LE and Oracle's poor leadership. On the other hand I do blame TX leadership and voters also (to a degree) for the blatent unchecked corruption and disaster that has been made glaringly visible over the last couple of weeks.
It's obvious that you tried to find all kind of excuses to blame others instead of blaming the cause of the problem which is CA. The ice storm last week has nothing to do with Oracle's relocation so that excuse is not even worth debating. And once again, LE moved his company because of high tax and unfriendly business environment in CA. That's the root cause. So I recommend you just accept the fact that CA is the problem and move on. Don't try to blame others and I live in CA right now and not TX.
The last time Texas got an ice storm was 80 years ago.
Nope. How about the 2011 ice storm that causes rolling blackouts (among other things) in large parts of TX?

It's funny to see you guys blamed Texas for Oracle's relocation.
I have commented about this and I don't blame TX for the re-loc at all. I blame LE and Oracle's poor leadership.
On the other hand I do blame TX leadership and voters also (to a degree) for the blatent unchecked corruption and disaster that has been made glaringly visible over the last couple of weeks. I hope that TX residents start to pull their heads out now that the myths have been exposed as the lies they really are.
It's funny to see you guys blamed Texas for Oracle's relocation. Why? You should blame CA because it does not have a friendly business environment for companies to operate and highest tax in the USA.
There's a good side to Covid which is people can work remotely now so companies see no reason to stay in CA. It just makes perfect business sense that's all. I'm not surprised to see more companies moving out of CA.
TX has seen snow, freezing temps and outages over the past 30 years. NOT 80 years ago. They have already been through the RCA, know they need to weatherproof the infrastructure. There is NO law to make the independent power operators do so. Advice was ignored. Just like the post election 2012 RCA was ignored.
Sh|t goes sideways in every state. If it’s a red state run by trumpublicans, you are extra screwed.
Don't like a place. don't move there. Easy peasy.
I left California a long time ago (I didn't move to Texas).
Do I hate California? Nope. Would I move back? Nope. Would I move to Texas? Nope.
I told you Texas was a dump. I know, I was BORN there. You are indoctrinated from birth to believe that Texas is better than every other state in the union. They have an attitude there that won't quit. They just BELIEVE they are better, then they don't actually do anything that needs to be done. No regulation, no attachment to the federal system, cause it's not good enough for them. Lying governor blaming wind energy when that's only 10% of the system. The state s—s, it figures Oracle would end up there. LE will fit right in with the corrupt government officials.
The last time Texas got an ice storm was 80 years ago. So I'm not surprised with the issues they have right now. They need to fix the power issue.
CA knows they will have fires every year but they are still not prepared for it every year. Every single year, the same problem arises. What was that saying again? If you keep doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome, then that's the definition of insanity. And CA is the definition of insanity.
As compared to, say, New Hampshire, with no state income tax, but with an energy infrastructure that works?
TX is the Wild West, or may as well be. Rugged individualism for all, even at the price of civilization.
TX energy market is not connected to the rest of the US. Not only could they not generate enough to meet the demand, they have no way to purchase energy across state lines.
Gas fired coal plants froze up and shut down. So did solar and wind. Those can be winterized. TX chose not to. They gambled. The population lost.
Heads will roll in Texas for this fiasco, unlike in California where there will be fires and blackouts again this year, and no one will be held responsible.
Just read about an Austin resident who is breaking up their backyard fence in order to burn it for heat. Texas - what a swell state!
Good thing nothing like that ever happened in California.

No it was the cost of fuel. Private energy distribution system Failed!!!
It was human greed, not ice that shut off the power. Investigators are investigating.
At least I’m not as stupid as you BTW I don’t live in Texas, California
You either don’t understand the job ... blah, blah, blah.
expected explanation from typical TX cretin. Too many red herrings to bother responding to.
Bottom line, TX sux and sux to be you.
You either don’t understand the job of government or bent on providing misinformation on a subject you know nothing about. Government doesn’t provide power generation, that’s done by privately owned companies typically traded on the stock exchanges - not funded by taxes. In this case they, the power companies, thought it would be really cool to be the first kids to to go all in on green energy energy, big mistake. Just like an airplane when the airfoil is iced up it will not it fly. Solar panels don’t work will when iced over. Just to be certain you understand, taxes have NOTHiNG to go with the issue in Texas, bad decisions are the root cause.
