I don't get it, how long can this place keep people employed and doors open at locations that have empty shelves and barely any foot traffic as a direct result of that? I'm usually an optimist and I keep stopping by every month or so to see if they've finally received those mythical shipments they keep promising will arrive "any day now" but never actually do. How they're still open despite that is beyond me.

Annnndddddddd it's over.
The executive summary is that Fry's will continue to exist as a zombie brand for as long as it takes to sell the real estate the stores sit on and quietly wind down the business. This is not a business with a plan to rejuvenate itself and come roaring back. The owners aren't publicizing this because it would be even worse for business than the current state of affairs, and because they frankly don't have to.
I was wondering the same thing...
