Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Avoiding open conversation?

I haven’t been in this company for a long time and I’m having a hard time because I have a problem that I haven’t had in the company I worked in before.
The manager in the previous company was much more direct and I had much clearer instructions on what to do and how to do it, that is, I knew what is expected of me. Here, however, the situation is completely different. Instead of having an open conversation about issues here, I endure absolutely awful micromanagement.

We have a manager like that. She will stand overtop of you and tells you how you're doing it all wrong. I mean, seriously, how can you take groceries out of a basket wrong. But according to her you can. And then she tells you how to put it back in. Whatever. Guess I've been doing it wrong for the last three years.

And she is never clear with her directions, for that matter. We get together after work, for a burger or coffee, and try to figure out what the "H" she's talking about. Can't give specifics because she would know who we are. We all think she's an absolutely horrible woman and can't wait until she leaves. And she thinks she's God's gift to Sam's. Actually said she's the only good manager they've had in years. In years. No one else in the store is as good as her. She actually said that.

Observe after 90 days and keep the trust minimal. Make sure only the club manager and co know who you are. Look for opportunities in other retail Jobs or ones that pay more to find value in staying or leaving. You don’t want summers here

Yea!! welcome to the team. You are setup to fail day 1, if you somehow survive 90 days then you are allowed to stay until they find someone to replace you. May the odds ever be in your favor.
