Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Struggling to keep it 100%

I know a lot of us are losing motivation. We’ve got a toxic workplace, HR cares only about the company and not the employees, wrong people are being promoted to leadership roles and I see a lot of us struggling to survive here. Sometimes I just DON’T have it in me to give it everything I got to this damn company. The freaking struggle is real!

Just look at some of the names on the new Business Teams. Some of the people involved with running the truck and shovel show have never seen a truck or shovel.

The company is f—ed.

If you get a job elsewhere quit Imperial right way. Don’t wait for severance package. This place is toxic and k–ler for last one year. If you think you are ok to work with 3 persons work load by getting 5 to 10 % more salary at Imperial, you can stay here. However, you might loose your job any time as their policy is send all work to cheap overseas locations. Doesn’t matter what the oil price is. Supervisors / Managers target is to make more money for themselves ( stock, salary, bonus) as they can. They also know they will be fired within a matter of time. They are here only to increase their savings. No long term goal for anyone. Bad for peoples close to retirement (less than 5 yrs). They will ruin their health only to keep this job.

Union won’t happen. Oil is on the rise again and people will be placated with the promise of raises. Complacency will set in and nothing will change until the next bust.

HR never cares about the employees - they are there to look out for management.

We need a union, so that employees are taken care of.
