Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Severance

If laid off you get 2 weeks for every year which is fair. However, for PTO, You are paid out only on pto that you accrued and you don’t get the total for the year that you’d get based on time of service. I learned hard way after laid off.

I’m Not sure if I get a job, if severance stops. I need to look further into small print. Anyone know?

You keep getting your severance unless you get hired back at AIG. That does not stop you from coming back as a contractor working for someone else. Double dip if you can.

For PTO, you get paid for what you have accrued at the time of departure. You can go into Workday and put your end date for PTO balance and it will tell you what you will have accrued.

You keep getting paid severance unless to take a role back at AIG before severance runs out

Unemployment may be different as each state has different rules. In NY, because the state officials stink, that stops
