Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Are things looking up?

I was laid off over a month ago and I’m still trying to find something comparable in terms of bennies and pay. Anyone else out there still looking or has already found something? I’d be interested to know what industries are currently hiring. Thanks in advance.

Did anyone else notice the silence regarding the network breach shutting Woneyhell down?

Look on the internet... cirickets.

it depends on the locations too. Lots of good paying jobs here in Seattle with Jeff Bezos running 3 outfit looking for aerospace background, plus lots of other better aero companies plus SpaceX. If you do not mind the rain, it is awesome to have all the trees, skiing, mountains for hiking, etc. Come on over

Most I know have left the sector for good for areas such as transportation, health care, power generation or government, primarily as project engineers or software developers. These infrastructure/essential services type sectors tend to be more stable. Others I know have moved into academic roles - community college or university. Initially academic salaries are lower, but in the long term improve with tenure. The long and short of it is that most of the younger workers ditched by the aerospace and defence sector are leaving, rather than continuing to bang their heads against the wall with other cyclical, unstable players similar to the Well, only to be dumped by ageism down the road as a reward for their fealty.

Looking up at Honeywell? No. We just burned a week not shipping and that lost revenue will be cut from something. Spending on new product continues to be the last priority with projects starting and stopping like a 1972 Chevy on bad gas. I work in DV and it feels like musical chairs.

Space and defense companies are hiring. It is possible to have a great working environment, pay, and benefits. There are companies out there that really do care about their employees.
