So, found out today that these new conductor trainees that have came over from the signal dept. we’re guaranteed an income of $6,200/ month for life. Been told this now from several people. How about that?!? There’s what your company thinks of you conductors drawing that pissy a– guarantee each half.

They will give it up in the next contract
My complements to the signal union for their strong contract that guaranteed them against furlough with income protection. One thing is for certain, don't ever give up that provision because you can guarantee no railroad union could get something like that today.
It’s 5680 a month and it’s not for life. Once a signal job becomes available to them, they have to decide to stay or go back. At that if they stay, they’ll loose their guarantee. They can also sit at the house and draw it with full benefits until a signal job becomes available. It’s Feb 7 protection. Engineering employees can’t be laid off without getting paid.
It’s 5,200 a month
