I work in Carlsbad California OptumRx pharmacy. management just spoke to us employees and told us that we will Have no choice but to become part time employees by April 5. This news came to us as a surprise. After all the sacrifices we made last year during Covid to come in and get these pr-scrip-ions out to our customers this is how we get rewarded. To be honest it almost feels like we’re being pushed out the door. Who can survive as a part-time employee here in California? I feel betrayed.

Cally was a dumpster fire and will continue to get worse. So enjoy the decline and set up shop elsewhere where at least it's not horrendous with oppressive CA govt regs and typical incompetence.
Not to mention it’s harder to fire people who live in CA, and they can carry over PTO & get paid for it. Buh-bye!

Another mega HDP opening in AZ with 400+employees. Of course inept Sr management wont tell you that. We are target after all
States that are better run, less taxes, less fees, & less bureaucracy to conduct business in will be the likely trend for companies. Why stay in a state that doesn't want business ? Or is punitive to employers and employees?
Sorry to hear that. They will start to work to get employees out of high priced states especially if more WFH opportunities exist. They can save lots of money by hiring in cheaper states. It will happen.
Yup, way too expensive , overpriced there and tons of red tape to do anything. Passing wind required 15 pages of forms and documents and fees
There is a move to get primary centers out of California little by little. Real Estate and salaries are more expensive than most other places in the US. You won't see it on a powerpoint, but it's underway.
What’s the reason for reducing hours? Decrease in mail order scripts? I doubt it. Has another facility increased production and staffing? Further automation? You’re not the only group that feels betrayed by OptumRx.
