Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is it a good sign

Is it a good sign if they are filling a position for someone who quit (about 50 of us have that same job)? Or could layoffs still happen...

Watch out bc so many team members will go HR on ya if you truth tell. Most employees have an allergy to reality and will do whatever to get rid of those who think critically /independently.

Yah, we all understand that the joke one percent "raise" is not a raise and doesn't account for inflations, yet how come people keep saying it's a raise? That's some serious brain washing or something in the water for teammates to really believe that one percent is a "raise" unless they're on something?

To the person who keeps "explaining" that a 1% raise isn't really a raise with the cost of living going up 2-3% a year....we know. It's really a decrease. Especially when the cost of benefits goes up every freaking year too. No need to keep explaining, we all understand.

How is a 1% raise a raise? It doesn't even keep up with COLA (inflation) which was around 2.5%. The 1% thing is an insult. You got a pay DECREASE.

Completely unrelated. They could hire at an entry level salary and then layoff those who have been there awhile. Those 1% raises add up after awhile and make the experienced folks too expensive to keep.

No employment contract nor agreement, you're NOT "safe" whatsoever.

2 years ago the company hired and promoted people and there were layoffs a month later of those people...thousands of layoffs. They have given RRP/merit raises and laid off shortly thereafter. There is a date coming up and you never know! It’s so sad. There is no rhyme or reason
