Only thing that prevents you from working for CVE again is the ability of HR to admit they made a mistake getting rid of you in the first place. Time for that to happen is about two years. It's simply policy and saving face.

Unless things have changed I don't believe you can be rehired for 2 years after receiving a severance package. Perhaps could return as a consultant but something with the legalities of severance conditions prevent being an employee for a certain amount of time.
Having said that, why would I want to go back to a place that didn't want me?
Nope , the ones that were laid off are the lucky ones , paid to leave , s—ed at first but really far better off here then there
