Why did the company layoff 160 people during a pandemic, without helping them find new placements in a company that employs 35000 people. The company acted ruthlessly without compassion and done in the name of the dollar. Shame on the surviving leadership. Hope you're happy with your bonuses and pay increases while kicking down and out your fellow man.

Sorry, not sorry is the John Hancock way. Streamline process so you can focus on more important tasks aka bu-----t. Don’t drink the cool side! They want to automate you out of a job! In town halls they care about shareholder value over employee value.
The layoffs were mostly focused in North America. They moved roles to Asia as per the global model. T
Marianne did send a gross blanket note about it the day it happened. the ~160 layoffs were US Segment, IT, Marketing, Operations are examples aware of. Hush Hush no, blindsided yes. Surprised big companies doing mass layoffs in pandemic where not really struggling financially are not called out more in media, etc.
And you're shocked by this why? You bet the surviving leadership is happy, because it wasn't them.
Where did these layoffs occur what teams? Seems to be all on the hush hush.
