Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Company of many lies?

If it’s true then only certain business units will be affected. From what I heard, finance upper management told their remaining staffs after the January separations that they were safe for the rest of the year. Now I wonder if they were lying to their employees and it would not surprise me if they were lying! Anything is possible with the Bank, they have proven time and again that they don’t really care about their employees.

ID. @1esl+1a6vwpHB That would be just another in a series of their lies, right?

@dxpz+1a8RlwjM, not sure how you can get below BE. But either way, your rating has little to do with your job being moved offshore... errr... I mean eliminated.

They wouldn’t have told anyone that in 2021. 2020 yea because they announced with covid they wouldn’t lag any off. Game on for 2021 though. They keep coming in with a certain % that has to go and if you’re not below BE to help but it then they make you below. Im a mgr and have seen that grimy s–t. Why do you think they keep cascading ridiculous goals now intended to keep you from achieving .

@1did+1a8RlwjM, there was never a promise and they were told no more layoffs for the finance group 2020. Now do I believe it? No I don't and anything is possible with that poorly run company. I'm sure they want try to restore some sense of calm with the remaining employees who are being overworked and given seriously embarrassing raises and bonus cuts for those eligible employees. Meantime the big boys are getting nice raises and bonuses while the regular joe gets screwed.

Call me a doubting Thomas, but theirs is the element of surprise as in "surprise, you're gone"!

I was told on 12/31/20 that I was safe for the rest of the year (2020).

I can’t imagine that senior management made that promise. Maybe that remaining employees were safe from that round of layoffs, sure.

It’s sad that they would tell employees that they were safe for the rest of the year. Not exactly a way to run a business.
