Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Anyone work in the GBU’s?

I’ve worked in a GBU for a while. C-ap mgmt. No promotions. No raises. No cost of living raises. Is this happening in other ones? The guy who runs them all is from my GBU and I think he could care less about humans than anyone I’ve ever seen. I know people who are milking it and just praying for a layoff. The managers and directors seem to be just scum of earth types who have no spine. Is this just my GBU or common?

CEGBU mgmt is the worst and they don’t do anything for their employees. Know some people who haven’t had raises in decade. They’re definitely making it up on the back end and just working as little as possible.

The graphic and short story sums up the entire situation quite nicely:

In my GBU most of the managers and directors aren’t qualified to be Walmart greeters. Many came in with pathetic resumes and I guess M&A said, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I’m not surprised cause the guy running the GBU’s is a complete tool.

“ No promotions. No raises. No cost of living raises”

Yes this is true! I think only if your manager likes you is when you get a raise but that doesn't even show a big dent on your paycheck after taxes.

Agree on that. Most of us hate our mgmt anyway. Hahaha.

A worse fate than being on the chopping block, to stay?

If you are unhappy, get out. If you are happy and can live with it all, fine, stay a while longer, but when you aren't satisfied, it is time to go. Start now before there is a chance you could be on the chopping block. Better to leave on your feet than on your back. And No I am not trying to get cute, I am serious. They will cut you loose and forget who you are before you exit the building.

Fair enough. I didn’t think it was that terrible for everyone; even outside the GBU’s. I guess that’s why no one has anything good to say. I tell people to avoid it like the plague.

“ No promotions. No raises. No cost of living raises”

It is that for everyone at Oracle, with the possible exception of all those overpaid individuals from other cloud companies.
