The sad thing is the uncertainty. Would you really be surprised if your store closed in say the next 60 days? It's a dying business. You can be proactive or reactive.
To TPU who posted earlier, are you serious? Do you have actual knowledge of store closings and layoffs. I came in today and no call from my RM so I must be good for now. However, I hope you’re not just posting to pull everyone’s chain. If you’re telling the truth then thanks for the heads up!
Whatever the outcome, understand that the wheels of bureaucracy in the C-suite are slow to turn. As much as it seems like they do things last minute, the sociopaths that are left have run the numbers, planned the spreadsheets out, and sent curt messages already the way one does when handling stale inventory.
If there -is- going to be an impact to FHEG, here's what you can expect;
Conference calls will have been had with GVPs, then RMs, then Stores if FHEG is impacted (wouldn't surprise me.) When it comes to impact to hourly, the decision is usually to act on Fridays so as to avoid any disruption such an act might cause by Monday. These calls get to the store managers (those who still have a staff, that is) Thursday afternoon. Action occurs Friday.
When it's salaried staff, they normally plan the backstab for Tuesdays. Why Tuesday? They alert field management (GVPs) Sunday via email to attend required calls on Monday. Project Blue was implemented on salaried at the end of the week, but other than that blow (which include severance, payouts, etc) this has been the new normal (which lacks such considerations as well as any decency.)
Normally this is followed up by the kickoff of the new Fiscal Year, possibly a video from someone with an important sounding title saying how last year was tough, but this year we have to make up for it (these are boilerplate 'you all need to do more with less!') but the sociopaths have every confidence in you...like they did those that just got removed. Disinformation will be rife at this stage.
Also understand today is April 1, and that this board is full of trolls. I only say that to highlight that mixed in with valuable information is trash. Emotions run high, but slow it down, look at your situation specifically, do your best to assess things. To everyone, no matter what day it is, good luck, stay true to yourself and remember that how we handle 'realignments' and 'streamlining' or 'redundancy' is how we'll be remembered.
To the last poster, how do you know this? Are you at corporate?
Many more layoffs and store closings coming very soon. Many people will be notified of layoffs by end of day. Don’t answer the phone.
Wish I knew what was coming out of these meetings about BU’s. Hopefully not additional layoffs and store closings.
After TL and BF's meetings with all the BU's don't expect any good news.
I would like to be a fly on the wall during the super secret Family Meetings.
Do tell....do you know if any are coming for FHEG?
