Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

Just some friendly advice

It is always much easier to find a job when you already have one. Don't wait to find yourself in the same position the folks who were just let go found themselves in. Take initiative and start looking for something new right away while you still have the luxury of not having to search for a job while unemployed. That's all I wanted to say.

There will be an in-house team that exists to manage the contractors they’re bringing in and serve as QC locally all other departments will be outsourced.

"See the trend and the teams that haven’t been allowed to hire."

@1zqw+1aCVpOjM By all accounts then, Field Services is for sure next. The last time they let us hire a person directly as an Ascension employee was 2018. We have had people leave since then and they have refused to let us hire for those positions. We've only had temp contractors for a few weeks at a time since then.

Oh and HCL, which has no other companies they support in our area, just posted a job listing this weekend which strangely sounds a lot like a field services job in our area for the amount we get paid. It's coming. I just want to know, I want them to rip the bandage off, so to speak.

Advice that can go a long way. Start brushing your resume and interviewing skills. The next wave is coming. See the trend and the teams that haven’t been allowed to hire.

I can't agree more!
I'm no longer at ascension but I still have friends that work there. I tell them to leave all the time - the writing has been on the wall and has been for years. It's true, ascension has some amazing people and you'll never work with a better crew but ascension has lost its way. The end goal is to outsource most if not the entire IT. Please don't be blindsided like some people have and get out while you still have a job.
