Ax-man says it's happening now and Oracle will be a different company come next Monday.
Anything happening? Anyone? Looks like tomorrow has to be the day, if Ax-man is right.

For the guy who said he’s been with oracle for 18 years and was ok with no raises, that’s exactly the problem. I know major companies giving cost of living raises even in a pandemic! You being “ok” with it lets HR know that they can just sc--w people over and they have. Like ok. One year without a raise fine. Not 5-10-15. Terrible. In my 14 years I’ve been here not one person has ever said “I love what I do or I love where I work.” Friends at other companies have. I would love to get laid off with severance now. But amongst my team I’m the best and know it’s not happening.
Things seem quiet so far on the layoff front.
Ax-Man … what giveth? Any FUDpdates on what is happening? I hear of no layoffs at OCI.
Let’s get this straight: a “lack of raise” in pay is a sign of a seriously flawed organizational mindset. Thinking it’s ok and just sux a little? You’re a frog in the p-t and the flame is on.
Anything happening in Australia?
You think you are going to get a package? They will let you die on the vine!
What groups were targeted?
I have never seen any of the negativity people talk about on this site. Been with Oracle for 18 years. Enjoyed almost every minute of it. Few bumps in the road and lack of a raise sucks but overall not bad. Now that I have more days behind me than in front I am looking forward to a nice severance as this will be my last job. My motto has always been work to live, do not live to work. Makes life much more enjoyable.
Marketing Ops here. Four of us were let go first thing this morning. Bay Area.
What group in OCI
I was just laid off from OCI. Fun times
Yep! Monday morning and the numbers are back up. This is a regular trend on weekends!
And Monday morning the numbers will pop back up. They may not be the same people, and they may not live in the same place, and they may have fewer grey hairs, but the numbers will be back.
Oh lol. Ax Man is very, very correct. I ran the numbers in the employee directory just a little while ago.
Ax Man was totally spot on.
I am truly disappointed in you ax man.
Let’s be honest. Getting laid off from this company would probably be the best thing to happen to a lot of us professionally, personally, and psychologically speaking. I’m sure it would also stop a lot of people from masking their depression over their job/professional status with drugs, alcohol or other addictions.
September 1, 2017 was a Friday. About 2500 of us were let go that day.
Oracle rarely lays off in the 3rd month of the last quarter of the fiscal. That said, the plans are set in stone for FY22 and the winds of change are in the air!
I’m so depressed that I would welcome the ax man coming to my house and chopping me from this house of misery called Oracle. The worst decision of my life. Hahahaha. Ok. Now I’m ending my day two days early cause hey, why not? My management team hasn’t worked in 20 years.
Anyone can post and say they are Ax-Man.
Anyway, no news, as usual.
If Ax Man was truly an insider, he would have been fired a long time ago. MF was shown the door for warning SUN employees that the 2017 RIF was coming.
I have no idea if Ax man has any inside knowledge but if he's a simple internet troll why would Oracle security be all over him for divulging corporate secrets?
You have to know secrets before you can divulge them.
Normal corporate practice is not to act on Fridays. It leaves people alone and isolated, without support. Suicides have been known to follow! It is not considered to be responsible!
Ax man is an untrustworthy troll. Oracle corporate security is all over him for divulging corporate secrets.
I don’t think Fridays are RIF days. At least it never used to be.
Hope so. I want my package.
