Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

How do you get along with colleagues?

At my previous job, also in the retail sector, I had colleagues who were good people and with whom it was a pleasure to work.

Although I am a very social person, I haven't been able to fit in with my new colleagues for several months now, and moreover, some people spread bad energy.

I try to be on good terms with everyone but it's all in vain here.

Sometimes it takes several months for you and your coworkers to get on the next level of beyond just working at the same place. It's even harder now that there is less help and more for everyone to do. When I first started working at my store, I was so busy that I didn't have time to get to know a lot of the coworkers. It didn't help that it was also late in the year which is the busiest time. Other people who I didn't get to really know were aware of me, I actually had a couple cute ones go out of their way to come to my area just to say hello. Sometimes you have to go out of your way to go say hi to someone, if you have time.
Also, keep in mind this is the beginning of May. You say you have only been there a few months, most likely some of your coworkers have only been there as long as you have. Turnover is higher now with all the changes Macy's makes and also because of the wages Macy's pays.
I'll give you a perfect example, since the changes in the beauty dept just over a month ago, we have lost the 3 former counter managers in the Big 3 (Lancone, Clinique, and Lauder). Even worse, every single associate in those 3 are new. So in a few months, people that had been there for many years, have left, mainly because of Macy's making changes that affected their pay.

Yes, I understand your concerns. It is a symptom of our times. People have become so "plugged in" to their cell phones that they have lost the ability to connect with other human beings. Perhaps this is evolution and your data port may not be compatible with their connectors. This "Drone" behavior can be disturbing. Classic good taste sometimes clashes with bold design. Use your supernatural Macy's Magic to look beyond the superficial and try to draw out their true inner self.

Literally this is me, I've been at my store over a month now. Still question my decision daily of working there.
