HR doesn't care about employees

What does HR do to confront a hostile work environment?
My opinion is that it does very little or nothing at all. I realized that it is absolutely useless to address them with complaints because they just don’t care. I did it once and they didn’t help me at all. I understand that they are primarily there for the interests of the company, but that should be inseparable from confronting a toxic work environment.

Lawyers aren’t cheap. Unless of course a bunch of concerned employees decide to do a litigation which will bring out all the evidence on “horse-trading” and “manipulation” that SVPs, EVPs and the CEO have been engaged in. The stuff that’s ki----g meritocracy and promoting nepotism and favoritism.

IT was gutted because it was a failure. As it should have been.

HR does not work for you. They work for management. It's been this way for decades.

There are managers who will make it all the employees' fault when the decisions the manager made go wrong. IT was gutted, HR was gutted, RD was gutted. It will be a slow drawn out process, but it won't stop there.

Please describe your experience...There are employees when held accountable will claim hostile environment, no different from what’s going on in the world now.

The legal department now owns that piece. HR doesn't really exist and has no presence at most sites. HR is essentially now a phone number that connects you to an outsourced HR contractor employee stationed in India or some other low cost place. They will happily read you a scripted answer for your questions and concerns. Good luck with that. If a legal threat or concern is raised then that's what really gets cared about. I hate to be the one to tell you, but nobody in the company "cares" about you on a personal level. Preventing reputation and brand damage is what they would call "caring" for you. Does that make sense?

Agree with that. If you feel there is a hostile work environment for you, get a lawyer involved.
