The layoffs never seem to stop here. I have a feeling there are constant layoffs because every now and then I hear about someone I knew who got laid off. The company is trying to cut costs, they are working in their own interests and not in ours... that much is clear to me, but I don't understand how the best, the most talented, people get laid off while the average ones stay here. Does anyone else think they are deciding very irrationally who will be laid off?

Got a high paying job, worked like a dog for them 12 hours a day even tho its 8 to 5, later on overworked myself and end up hospitalized, doctor said I need at least 1 month to recover. After the management found out about my situation, literally got replaced in 3 days. The only reason why I am sick is because I worked like crazy, spent more to recover than earned in the first place. Efforts I have put in the company are unnoticed, unappreciated, this is the reality dont go out there sacrificing yourself for the company that doesnt care about you. No job security, US employment at will, no employment agreements, never again to be used and abused by US companies
Are any boomers (those with a boomer mindset) requiring their slaves/drones to go back to the cubicle/office? They need to fill their real estate investment with dutifully lackees.
I don't want a game room, snack trains, and a slide.... I want more money
You see, the American Multi-National such as those wretched "health" "care" publically traded, shareholder owned organizations have no patriotism, no loyalty to the American people and no scruples when it comes to destroying and infecting US people here and abroad. It is in business to make money and more and more and more and more, or, ‘It’s all about the profit stupid!”
Peter principle. Dunning-Krueger effects too. US corporate workplace
I don't see why the company hires directly? They should use a temp agency it might save them more money to pay the temp agency fee and not have to worry about who they want to fire next.
Capitalism on steroids. Profits were all that mattered. Employees/debt slaves were fungible and brain washed. It was reinforced by MSM and its propaganda.
I'll take a shot at it: The best and most talented are quite often the ones with the higher salaries.
You can cut fewer of those positions and save more money... at least on paper, and short term.
Also, acting in the company's best interest is "a good thing" for more employees than if they start acting in a way that is not in the company's best interest. One way "might" save the company, and the other definitely won't.
