I left Oracle last year. It was a scary time for me with a lot of stress on my shoulders but I made the decision to leave on my own terms rather than wait and get laid off. I left without finding another job which many find to be an insane move ( probably was).
After applying and other big companies on the market I eventually made the decision to apply at a much smaller company. Even though I had my share of doubts about that move It turned out to be the best move of my life. To be honest, pay is slightly less than what I made before but the atmosphere is much better, the work environment is much healthier and I have a good relationship with my boss.
Many of us dismiss a job at a smaller company thinking it is a step back but the truth is there is much more sense to me than working in a dinosaur toxic organization with over-bloated layers of management. I suggest this to anybody who is unhappy with his job.

Managing 0 is very hard work. Somebody had to manage me, myself and I.
The arguments never stop.
Time for the Pre-meeting meds.
Now I can smile and nod.
“Some” malcontents? The only people that are happy at Oracle are those types who smile cause they’re either high or insane. Nothing to do with B or C team cause all of Oracle is a C compared to Google or AWS. You sound so angry. Are you mgmt? May I have your employee ID? It will be completely confidential. Do you want to speak with a robot on the ethics line?
I love my part time job at Oracle. Made 22k today with some crypto. See the smile on my face?! Hahahahah.

Congratulations! You are one of very few folks left Oracle who had the sack to own your own career. At least judging by posts on this site, remaining Oracle employees seem to think that Oracle should change things up, just because some malcontents aren’t happy with the status quo. The remaining employees are clearly just whining B and C-team losers who would rather complain than own up to their own careers.
It’s refreshing to hear of your successful exit. Though unlikely, maybe a few hanger-ons will read this, finally sack up and get out.
First, congrats. Second, makes perfect sense. Third, just got me motivated. You definitely know what is going on here. I wish someone would listen to rid oracle of so many useless managers/levels, but they seem to be ok with paying managers to manage 0-10 adults who don’t even need it.
