Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

What are you doing about it?

There are A LOT of hateful/spiteful people here. I’m not sure if it’s just a select few who are posting over and over again or if it’s actual employees with complaints. The funny thing is I’ve never run into any of your negativity in real life while at work. Maybe my location is just fortunate. The question I have is if you’re so unhappy, and if you don’t want to be here - what are you doing about it? Are you actively seeking other employment? Or are you hoping to get cut in the next round of layoffs? Or is coming here to complain your solution for being unhappy?

You mean like the ones who say ‘we love you” as they’re planning on layoffs ? Do you mean those hateful and spiteful people? It’s also transparent

i worked there for years and years..to the point that coming out of it was a culture shock in the real world. i am post WFM now, but i know WFM takes care of its people to an extent that you won't see in the general work force. Ex: no accountability for absences during covid, pay hikes, yearly reviews and generous raises, freedom to air out your drama and have TMS and leadership baby you, etc. I know it's not what it used to be, it never can be...but seriously, ya take the good ya take the bad..but remember the good! the culture is still very pro team member. don't get me wrong, i'm glad i'm out of it because i'm glad to be out of retail altogether, but really, if you're going to work retail, it's a good environment to be in. i was in leadership there for a long time and moved on to ASTL -worst job in the store, in my opinion, and the most crapped on position- and you can forget about having a life and then be told you just lay around by the team members.....and then the STLs have to baby the team about it and rarely stick up for the ASTLs so they don't look bad when ASTLs are just following STL orders. NO thanks. anyway, TMs don't realize how good they actually have it, but if you're unhappy..yes, there is life after! you'll miss the people, because really, that's what's keeping you there, but guess what? good people are everywhere!

Exactly what store location do you work? Share that info and tell us about the leadership there. You might hold some valuable problem solving info that could help change the mindset in other WF locations. Whether you believe it or not there are other stores with issues that make team members struggle. People shouldn't have to quit their jobs to get relief .

Layoffs was a onetime thing with store level.
