An Equal Opportunist Abuser, if I ever saw one…
Sounds about right…from Valiant to the head of a prize given out by one of the world’s oldest monarchies. Neither are none for innovation. Just smoke and mirrors.
She had many competent people over her 20+ years. Vast majority were demeaned and trampled. Awful human being. Good riddance.
she did have some competent sr dirs reporting into her, some of them are good people who were hamstrung because she had the final word on which projects go forward and which don't - sadly a lot of good ideas by people passionate about the swoosh are rejected. here's hoping her backfill will do better, or perhaps vl will be shut down because roi is negative
100% of what the last person wrote. Good riddance evil woman.
Why was she disliked?
Because she couldn’t manage a strategy, budget, staff for starters.
She was petty, demeaning (especially to women) , and mercurial on the best of days.
She also never seemed to except responsibility for her failures, choosing to burn through money and people for her fall people.
Yet she loved to try to be the face of any sustainability or innovation that other departments did.
So you tell me,
why was she disliked?
So a problem is solved.
Does Valiant survive or do they close it down.
Might they hire someone with experience in what is always a tough job.
They were looking for a Head of Portfolio, who understood Servant Leadership, which was the funniest thing I had read about Nike since Strasser's book came out.
Two years ago Valiant ran an employment ad that was the perfect description of her actual job, so she knew what was supposed to happen, just could not pull it off.
Thank TC for hanging that millstone around her neck, and eventually flushing her back to Europe.
