Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

I know, I know, I can go work somewhere else and no one is holding me back from leaving here. Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t have complaints about this place. My breaking point was being overwhelmed with work. I couldn't take it anymore and I gave notice. What are your biggest complaints? What makes CS worse (or better for someone) than the competition?

Totally agree, but this is also a failure of leadership to set expectations, push for innovation, and letting layers of middle management grow numerous bureaucratic kingdoms.

Is so old, slow and stupid. Run by a bunch of very risk-averse white guys who only care about making tons of money at the expense of everyone else. No clue how technology works or how competitive it is for good tech talent.

Im not the person who posted that so can’t speak for them, but MO it’s neither. IMO it’s the credit card companies that aren’t even on the radar yet that have now begun offering IRA services

It depends on how you define "competition".
Is competition the similarly sized big legacy financial institutions?
Or is competition tech companies & upstarts disrupting specific financial product areas - banking, trading, crypto, etc.?
Or is competition any tech company fighting for the same technical/product/business talent that Schwab needs to serve customers?
