Explorer Hood TSB

Great job avoiding a recall and dodging a class action suit. More pain for Ford customers who just want a vehicle and brand they can trust.

Ford issued four technical service bulletins (TSB) addressing the issue for 2000-2017 model year Explorer models, but never a recall. The problem reportedly began when the automaker changed the Explorer’s hood from steel to aluminum and customer complaints of premature corrosion date back to 2004, which is when the first TSB was issued

It like an automotive fairytale: The Emperors New Car All around him is turmoil and quality issues, but he just goes racing.

Don’t listen to your closest contact to customers, priceless mistake.

Had the same problem on a 2012 Mustang AL hood with corrosion bubbling. Ford dealer bodyshop won't guarantee a repaint on these hoods - even if you buy a new one.

They said they can't wait until the AL F-150s start getting older. He raised the question with Ford - they basically told him to go away. And this is one of the largest Ford dealers in MI!!
