Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Not paid (on time)?

Has it ever happened to anyone here that you worked and were not paid? My sister recently got a job here and complained to me that she was not paid.
I can't believe that such things happen, that people have to fight to get paid for what they have earned. Does anyone here have experience with situations where you were not paid?

They, we have a new hiring system that is just horrible. Did she complete her direct deposit? There are instances of that dreadful system taking days even a week or more to get things right. Sadly she will eventually be paid.

Is she a recent new hire lost in the depths of the inept and broken new HR system?

Also depends on start date and payroll. For instance, if she started the first Sunday or Monday of a payroll period, (which is two consecutive weeks ending on the second Saturday), she would not get paid for those two weeks until the following Friday. Payroll for every corporate employer is based on the full two weeks worked, paid the following Friday. Or, Thursday?
