Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

What do these consulting companies do?

I really like someone’s post about consulting companies that are hired to help, but don’t really know much about this industry. I am very interested in that topic. I just wonder what all these consulting companies are doing, since the results of their work are not very noticeable. Can the mess in the company finally be fixed?

off topic but i have to ask, i see people (or probably just the same person) censoring their own words, but even within a rate PG site those words wouldnt be inappropriate. Im just curious why censor words like ho-e, slave, mo--n, ect? Is this not a site for adults? None of the censored words are being used in an obscene way either.....its...confusing to see i guess.

I want to expand on my comment also, I no longer work in claims, but in my position now. If it wasn’t for the gov stay at home order and people following it. We’d still be behind to this day in work up our heads.

That 1-2 month timespan in the initial wfh, tipp and yi had to kick everyone irrelevant off the vpn because it was so bad, even the slow work that was coming in was taking some time to finish.

SF I can’t say it enough now got really fu----g lucky god gave them 1-2 months to get their sh-t together before the actual storm. The mo--ns still barely add the deadline.

I honestly think SF is doomed to fail in the next decade. Insurance is getting evaluated hard by members of the gov. It’s more and more common for people not to afford it.

I totaled 400k in damages I covered from different drivers in one year. We cover a ton of sh-t we shouldn’t.

My experience so far is, it’s easier to pay out for stuff we shouldn’t, vs sending it back to be evaluated.

It’s all about numbers and completing the task. I no longer care if I pay out on fraud. There’s 6 people that could have had common sense before me. I’ll just take that task collect my bonus and pass go.

I may sound like an a-s writing this, this was not my choice. This is how tipp and yi wanted us settling claims.

I believe it’s totally possible especially after 08-09 for companies to be too big to keep everyone upgraded in tech and things moving fast, and honestly SF is showing that.

The WFH I have to give SF credit they did already have that almost set up, but the fact of the matter is SF barely made it to the deadline for their own business needs, and for even more lucky at the beginning we ran out of work.

The slow adaptations and running off stupid luck really paints Tipp as who he is. A lucky mo--n.

I don't like that SF hired an independent consulting company to evaluate it's business practices, but I believe fault lies with the hiring company, such as SF. This reorganization is not new and SF has had lots of opportunity to see the business plan isn't for a 'non-factory', customer service oriented business. There has been a lot of turnover in VP positions under MT since the plan was approved to move forward. In the beginning, first-line management said that they would 'implement, evaluate, and adjust', but that business practice doesn't appear to be happening anymore. First-line management are not 'innocent', as I have experienced my own management get frustrated and suggest employees find another job, if the employee isn't happy with the process, because employees would give the same rating on barometers regarding issues like workload and sustainability, etc. Their monthly barometer just wasted time because it is not about how the employee envisions the company improving, but more of a measure of how many employees are willing to sit back and accept a process that was doomed to fail.

Consulting companies are leeches paid by them to support a narrative to hurt the worker bee so they can scr-w you behind closed doors.

They make all insurance companies the same sinking ship. None any better than the other and all thanks to said consultants.

We had interviews or discussions w/ consultants years ago, and all it ended up to be is a way to brainwash employees to suck it up and accept no more cost of living raises we used to get, and prepare us for possibly getting 1% Raises, since you didnt 'raise the bar' after you have no where to be promoted to (unless you pull your kids out of school and have your spouse change jobs, and move 8 states away), and you've been in your job for 10+yrs. This was fun for typists and assistants who can't get promoted, without enrolling in college courses to get different skills. So no matter how hard they worked or overworked they were, they were trying to serve them 1% raises. Made worker REAL motivated as you can imagine.

The consultants were just there to smooth over decisions that were are ready made behind the scenes, but they acted like we had 'input' in them to think about it reasonably and rationally, and embrace these shtty raise strategies, and review and goal strategies. They just served up a big plate of C**.

This company used to be so good to the employee, now it is bare minimum.

Psychopathic way is saying we can over work your employees for profit like Goldman Sachs. They used the same consulters and debt dodgers.
