Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Astounding lack of professionalism

I've been here for over a year and I can safely say that this is the most unprofessional group of people I've ever worked with. I've never seen so much incompetence, laziness, lack of care about the end results... This inevitably leads to bad decisions and revenue loss and nobody seems to care. How the hell is anybody getting anything done right here?

Totally in agreement. Employees above a certain level act like they don't have to work anymore now that they've climbed up the ladder enough. So much fun when an AWOL sr. director gets your project k–led because he's been unreachable for weeks and you're waiting for a decision. And I look bad because on paper it looks like I've accomplished very little.

Don't plan on getting much of anything done during the summer months or the holidays if it requires work from sr leadership/

OP, I obviously do not know you but I respect you based on what you wrote. I have been at Nike for 7 years, and I have precisely the same observation. This is a culture of zero accountability.

I will add that this is a culture where people will, without hesitation, take your work, ideas, outcomes, etc. and claim it as their win. Just yesterday I was in a meeting when a person did exactly that and even thanked others in that person’s circle without even mentioning my name, my ideas, contributions, etc.
