Urbana Ohio Furlough: Unemployment question

So I know some of you all have experienced a furlough this last year. I have a question. If you know about Ohio specifically that would be great.

We are being furloughed from 40 hours to 32 hours. An important bit if information is that management had us all working 55 hours a week, the week of and weeks before they announce no fridays and no more than 32 hours.

So do we qualify for unemployment, and what everyone really wants to know is if we qualify for the $300?

So I'm gonna have all Friday to call them, but what has everyone's experience here been with this?

File immediately.
Even if you aren’t eligible for state funds you may be eligible for federal aid.

32 hours is still full time employment. You wouldn.t get a dime in compensation from anyone

Getting Ohio unemployment is not easy. I’m not sure it is still true, but you used to be able to get unemployment for reduced hours due to Covid-19. Otherwise, you need to be unemployed for an entire week to get anything. Good luck getting a warm body when you call. Pert near impossible!

Could you call your state Unemployment office to verify? Rather than asking people here.

It might depend on the state, but I think you have to be furloughed the entire week...back in 2017 we were furloughed the first week of the year but couldn't claim unemployment because we were paid for new years day.
