Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

I'm conflicted

I don't want to run away. I want to stay and try to fix the company. I've been here far too long and invested too much of myself to simply walk away. But at the same time, I know that I'm way too low on the totem pole to be able to do anything that would mean any kind of significant change. And that feeling when you want to change things but can't-tsucks.

Just accept that this is the best it gets for you.

So, I don't want to be a complete influencer here but reality, I would take some of the information on this site with a 50/50 view point.

Most people here are already pi–––d at Nike and just want to c––p all over it and hopes we all lose our job because the hate runs so deep. You can read those but keep in mind, they have negative intent. Not all bad information, but keep in mind they're looking at a one way direction.

Other half of the post here are calling out the double standard of Nike. This is true, sometimes, however... once again, we're hearing one side of the story. I would say this is another one of those situations you definitely should read because it may happen to you. You just need to be conscience of it, however you may have a good manager or leader who doesn't treat you like c––p.

Now there is yourself, what things would you like to change within the organization? What influencing powers do you have to bring hopefully positive change to Nike? Those are the questions I'd say ask yourself. I would also say start smaller, then build bigger. Now if you're trying to change Nike from the Federal Tax situation, there is probably a whole lot we don't know. Media picks up a lot of things that drives clicks, the clicks = revenue for a lot of those sites, including CNN, Fox News, etc...

However, if you want to change the culture of Nike, you should start with yourself Then work on to the next person (or teammate) and keep pushing the ideal state. Sometimes this can take a lot of effort but if its just examining a problem or issue in another way, it will eventually take plant.

Changing people's minds is a hard hard task because humans are complex individuals.
