Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is there really a need for layoffs?

Is the company really in such a bad position that layoffs are inevitable and the only option? Couldn't the management still save some jobs that will be lost?

We got some more corporate simps, shills, and buck dancers. How predictable. With censoring, and word police for reality. More typical us corporatist nonsense.

It appears that this website is being followed and censored by BIG BROTHER. Face the facts! UHG s..ks, culture is terrible! They hire their buddies in management who have NO idea how to lead let alone run a health care company. My claims are not paid properly and I have to file appeals every time! We need a lawsuit!

It was never our job, or our company. we were just employees being used and abused. it was never a "family" etc. it was simply a job to pay endless bills, fees, and taxes. if teammates took it to an emotional or psychological level than that's simply brainwashing from all the propaganda.

Why are certain words being policed? Is that manufacturing consent?

Don't overthink this. As others have said, it's just a thing they do. They don't even bother to figure out if some of us might fit into an existing requisition. Just dump folks, pay the severance and let the employee go to the hassle of reapplying if they choose to. It's purely numbers to them.

The fist problem is due to the fact that the management staff hired are not qualified to do the job. Starting with Witty. If they are going to layoff they need to "clean the swamp" starting at the top. THAT is the f-t that needs to go!

For those 'cost cutting' measures did you get any bonus, and-or extra remuneration? Are you an employee or partner/owner/trustee of that corporation? Thanks.

If UHG knew how to Managua business then they would not lay people off. Proven fact!

Just because a company regularly lays people off does not mean that the company is in a "bad position" or poorly managed.

Like it or not, we are merely resources. Sometimes they need more of us, sometimes they need less.

  • sometimes I use all of the tomatoes I purchase at the supermarket, other times I throw them away. However, it is rare that what I do can be blamed on the tomato.

The area I work in, our senior leadership let us know we saved over 100 FTE positions based on the year long cost cutting measures we explored and deployed in 2020. In a company this size, there is always f-t to trim, be it from new acquisitions or new technology that speeds up processing time at a lower cost per unit. Layoffs are a way of life at onshore UHG, I am proud to be part of a team where management is transparent, and we know how our innovative work is saving US jobs while also saving the company money. If my team gets laid off next, so be it; my management has been upfront and honest. Can't speak for the company as a whole, but where I work, I know where we stand and how our work is helping save US jobs.

Why would they do that? Their lust is profit and more profit. Employees=Expenses that take away from their lust for profits. That's in their "DNA". Like a fly to fe–s-corporatists swarm to fe–s/$.
