Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Drastic shift in culture

XOM used to lead by giving its employees great pay and benefits that were among the best - if not the best - in the industry. Today, the company leads by always keeping its employees afraid of losing their job. Talk about a drastic shift in culture. No wonder so many older employees are leaving.

A company who's culture has WeAreExxonmobil as a bullet shows the company arrogance. I mean really? Who lists WeAreExxonMobil in defining the company culture. Arrogant bastards!

I hired and worked with an army of exemplary colleagues who had PhD degrees and their knowledge and mental capacity was such that they couldn't add 2+2 =4 equivalent in their respective fields.

d–b as rock, toxic as cyanide is what URC-CSC and now UIS-RTD reflect. Esteemed colleagues for sure.

One of their favorite brainwashing phrases is the people you work with are so great and you won’t get the quality of people at other companies. This from people who have spent their entire career at ExxonMobil. What a joke. As an experienced hire I can tell you it is a lie. Other companies have good people too. Unbelievable that people buy into this st—d self aggrandizing lie. How arrogant can management be to say everyone else is an id–t. Maybe they should figure out why we spend more capex on OBO projects of those companies are run bu morons.

ExxonMobil was always a place with toxic culture. It has groomed and brainwashed people for decades (and not in a good way). In the past it got away because of high crude prices and everyone’s depends on it. No more!!! There is no need for tolerating a toxic empire, evil executives, and Bastar -d employees.

XOM used to be profitable. Now it's not. Every other industry went through this shift in the 70s.
