Manager shutting me out

At first I ignored his behavior and it was even funny to me because I knew right away that he was doing it out of frustration. However, it has become very tiring now. Have you ever felt like your manager is behaving like this and trying to lower your self esteem because he actually feels threatened by your expertise?

I enjoy being shut out by my manager cause he’s useless and will not be able to do anything but approve timesheets and vacations. Hahahahahhahqhqhah.

Yes, they are afraid of anyone who knows what they are doing.

They hire and promote the stupid people that they feel more comfortable with.

Problem is that the management is too stupid to do their jobs. They can only work with people dumber than them.

They hire du–b–dumbs, then they get the knowledgeable people to do the work, while they take the du–b–du–b with them to their meetings and then DEMO YOUR WORK as if the du–b–du–b did it!

This is the way it works.

I worked with a guy who was the best developer in his group. Manager divided the group into those working on the future implementation and those working on the old and soon–to–be–replaced implementation. Put the best guy in the old implementation group. Then he told him he should write some code for the new implementation and the manager would show it to the leader of that group to see if they wanted to bring him into that group.

But, all the time, the manager was taking the guy's code and having the manager's girlfriend demo it as her work, while the girlfriend was not doing any of the work assigned to her in the group. She wasn't doing anything. All the work was done by the guy in the other group who was desperately trying to do work to show he could be in the better group.

Completely set up from the start. Manager told the person in charge of the better group that the guy had emotional problems and you don't want him in the group. There were no emotional problems. Manager was just lying.

Take advantage of the time you have right now. If your manager wont invest in you, double down on your investment in you. Decide what you want to do next, and start focusing on taking as much free training/certifications as you can that you think a future employer would want.

If you are RIF'd, being current in certs and or Linked In trainings could make the difference in a job interview.

If you aren't RIF'd and you want to stay with Oracle, it'll help you find a new job with a new manager (just look outside the current org you're in).

Once you have a mgr do that to do once, you recognize it right away in future mgr interactions. Yes, it can be jealousy or just not wanting you to shine. Double f bosses like that. They deserve to wallow in their tiny little worlds.

It could be he’s shutting you out with the expectation that you’ll quit, to save a RIF payout. If that’s the case, I would wait it out for the RIF payday.

he knows he has to RIF you and that's his way of sending you a not–so–subtle message
