GI claims transformation town hall 4/27

Does anyone have any info on this meeting g next week? I have never had mandatory town hall, looks like most claims involved so doesn't look like a layoff

Was this townhall for U.S claims only? What was the outcome?

“Stapler” is spot on.

If you are not part of the “in crowd” or can leverage wokeness, you will either be let go or compensation reduced along with making work atmosphere terrible so you want to leave

If you have a lot of years, and the severance package is a chance for you to do something new, then good for you and milk it as long as you can and coast. Otherwise like others have said, you need to get out when you can

Remember the slogan "bring on tomorrow"? This is the second company I ever worked with "tomorrow" in the corp slogan. End up with my conclusion that they talk about "tomorrow" because "today" is too terrible to talk about lol

AIG is possibly the stupidest company in the world. We recently had a meeting hosted by a consultant to tell us to empower ourselves to make decisions. Unfortunately, no decisions can be made without getting approval from multiple layers of management who ultimately report to consultants.

So AIG is paying a consultant to advise employees and hiring other consultants to make the decisions. Why exactly do we need management?

Its like working in a movie, yes that movie would be "office space".

Transformation = layoffs. This will happen through automation, outsourcing, and just plain getting rid of people

From the meeting came across as claims losing money, customers unhappy and serious issues

It’s stupid so far just chance for management to hear themselves talk , really sounds like warning that keep customers happy and save us money

The post roundtable discussions that are supposed to follow the townhall are very unusual. Who and why, the invite is just all around strange.

Ooooh that transformation.

That’s the new word for outsource and offshore jobs.

I was at Pacific Life. They called it “The evolution of operations”. They outsourced and offshored the bejeezus out of those teams.

IT Strategic Sourcing they called it. Meant eliminate every single IT job humanly possible. Doesn’t sound very strategic to me.

Watch next it will be “Finance department efficiencies” or “Marketing department 2.0!”

Love how they put a positive spin on it.
