Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Anybody laid off last year still unemployed?

I'm wondering what happens after 26 weeks for unemployment, I am coming up to that point and even though I have a few possibilities nothing concrete yet. Will an extension from covid automatically kick in for unemployment? I'm in Texas. Thanks in advance for any insight here.

Look at the eligibility statement. What's important is the dollar amount that it states you are entitled to. It will run out prior to the stated date so plan accordingly.

Close but I'm not 3 weeks away, I started requesting benefits in January 2021. The rest of the note was basically just update about the extension. I believe the EB.we all qualify for at the minimum. Good Luck

is this the email you received:

You have less than three (3) weeks of unemployment benefits remaining on your current claim. When you exhaust your regular unemployment benefits and if you are still unemployed, TWC will automatically determine if you qualify for additional benefits. If you do, we will automatically enroll you in one of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) pandemic program claims or in Extended Benefits (EB). You will be notified by mail or electronic correspondence of your eligibility. You do not need to submit another claim application.

was it pretty quick in receiving a determination of additional benefits?

I received a note from Texas Workforce Commission that extension passed by Congress and automatically will switch through mid September 2021.
