Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

What's keeping you here?

I think it's fair to say that the majority of employees are not happy at L3H. I'm not among them, I actually like my job. I don't like the constant fear of layoffs, but other than that I'm satisfied with where I am. If I wasn't, I'd already be out of here. So why aren't you? I'm not trying to be a troll, I'm just curious what's keeping people at jobs that make them so unhappy.

It's a cr-p company but I can do about an hours worth of work a day and nobody seems to notice so it's easy money.

In reply to Ashameonbothhouses,

L3Harris and the politicians who are in bed with them do not represent capitalism whatsoever. There is nothing capitalist or free market about L3harris. If they weren't in the business of defense, they would've gone out of business long ago. Imagine if they made a smartphone for civilian use, it would cost $50,000 and wouldn't be capable of doing things Samsung and Apple have incorporated into their devices years ago.

It's one thing to have brilliant minds working towards the common goal of national defense and receiving government subsidies for it, it's another to effectively have the government subsidizing the exorbitant take home pay the executives at these companies receive. Unfortunately the defense industry is one where there needs to be salary caps for execs to disincentivize the immoral business practices many have been known to practice. Disgusting how the execs will took home tens of millions last year while over 1,000 employees were reportedly laid off. Absolutely disgusting. They do not care about national security nor the long term welfare of the United States Military it's all about their tax payer funded bank accounts at the expense of the workers and nation they pretend they serve - socialism in its truest form.

I care about the product, and more importantly the people it goes to, and the Country it supports. I work here to protect that as much as I can, but as far as I'm concerned, Harris doesn't deserve the honor of having their name on the sides of half of the historic aircraft we help provide capablities for. They've taken capitalism so far that they forgot what was required to be an American business, particularly in the defense industry. I can't wait for them to get sued for treating their people like sh–t. It is quite literally a matter of National Security that they do so, and they fail miserably every day.

It's not even so much about rates. I saw plenty of customers willing and able to pay top dollar for their orders. The problem is that they were not getting what they paid for after a full year of waiting in many cases. They were literally line–down waiting on L3H to get their act together, and it never happened. The lower level employees were blamed by the customers, as if there was anything that they could do.
Root cause of this problem: L3H continues to work with cheaper vendors that are just as unreliable as they are.

Plain and simple: Get out of this company as fast as you can. It looks like L3 missed yet another big award due to their exorbitant rates which means more parsing out divisions and selling them off. Get ready, here it comes.

This is another veiled HR post. Don't be fooled by the fools who sit around and sip coffee and gossip all day.
