Severance after new job

I’m seeing on LinkedIn many execs (Directors and above) getting a new job almost immediately after being laid off. Are they still collecting severance? The new policy is unclear.

Directors and above normally have a plan worked out for them well in advance

I don’t know how they will enforce it. If you put your new job on LinkedIn & advertise it they will stop your severance if they find out. Other than that I can’t imagine how they will be able to track someone got a job to stop the severance.

Presumably it depends on jurisdiction? Do you mean in the States?
