Surely the experiences are divided. Some will say that they gained a lot of experience while at Oracle, managed to progress very easily, worked on outstanding projects, etc. I have not, however. Sometimes I wonder if it's my own fault that I didn't use all the chances or perhaps not everyone has an easy way level up here.

I’ve been here for almost 15 years. I was hired by an acquisition that Oracle purchased later on. I’ve stayed in that unit out of comfort but I say they fit the Oracle mold. Lot of liars, incompetence, frauds, and really just lazy people who wouldn’t be candidates for Walmart greeters. I’m actually making passive income on the side so this is a great part time job. I only work about 10-20 hours a week so I laugh at Oracle cause I will always get a raise. The place is terrible. The mgmt, as many have said 100 times over, are pure sc-m and POS. The mgmt in my unit will never leave cause they wouldn’t make half of what they make anywhere and are total frauds and they know it. Lots of bad haircuts, Botox and bullying. The “Oracle” way.
Get out of Oracle as soon as you can. There is nothing there for you. It is a waste of your time.
I have yet to ever hear anyone not blossom after they left Oracle. There are worse companies and cultures out there, but Oracle is in the bottom 25%.
The main issue is that toxic behavior is actually encouraged in some places, and in others just covered up or allowed to fester.
Personally, I don’t regret my five-plus years at Oracle. I was never treated BADLY in my department. However after 3-4 years I realized that despite my exclusive 4 and 5 annual rankings, I would never see a promotion or any sort of meaningful compensation bump either.
In late 2019 I started interviewing externally. Then the pandemic hit. That delayed things for a good 9-10 months. Everyone had their heads down from March through about October.
Then good jobs started popping up all over the place. By Thanksgiving I was actively interviewing again. I interviewed with seven companies. I had an awesome offer in hand by the end of February and was gone shortly after that.
My departure spurred the departure of at least 3-4 other people in my group since I left. Four managers also left since Feb 1. They are struggling to find candidates because 1) no one wants to work for Oracle and 2) they are paying WAY below market rate, and candidates are balking at salaries.
Companies of all sizes are eating Oracle’s lunch on so many fronts.
I don’t hate Oracle, and I would love to see them thrive, but only after Larry and Safra leave and someone else comes in and changes the culture like Satya did at Microsoft. That is what it is going to take, and time is running out …..
I have posted previously, my experience was mostly positive. I had a great manager in a fine organization and did good interesting work with some great people. I also this experience is not typical, I saw plenty of toxicity around me and people who left out the bathroom windows because it was so bad. Knowing what I know, I'd never go back in a million years because I know my previous experience isn't going to happen again. In fact, I'd bet a dollar it's just gotten worse. I'd never recommend anyone to go there despite my positive experience.
Don’t let Oracle life gaslight you. People really blossom when they survive it and move on. There’s never been a better time to change jobs. Think it over.
